Desde hace unas horas ya está en marcha la beta de SC2, en estos momentos los primeros afortunados ya están jugando en Battle.net y muchos otros podrán hacerlo en cuanto terminen la descarga. Es hora de que todo el mundo revise su cuenta de Battle.net.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Beta Is Now Live!

The Koprulu sector rings once more with the sounds of battle, for the public beta test of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty has officially begun! Invitations to participate in the beta test are now being delivered. As with previous Blizzard Entertainment titles, the beta-test process for StarCraft II will occur in phases. In each phase, we will be selecting players who meet specific criteria and who have opted in via their Battle.net accounts.

Players who have been invited to participate in the beta test will need to have a Battle.net account. For more information on the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta test, please read the FAQ http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=23094049320&sid=5000 and our recent media alert.

If you didn't receive a beta test invite, don't worry -- it's possible that you'll be added in a later phase. Keep an eye on the email address associated with your Battle.net account, and stay tuned to www.StarCraft2.com for further updates.

En estos momentos hay varios usuarios que están transmitiendo sus partidas por stream, y posiblemente dentro de muy poco tiempo, si no lo han hecho ya, aparecerán también los primeros vídeos subidos a youtube.

En la página de asistencia técnica de Blizzard se pueden consultar los requerimientos mínimos para poder jugar a la beta de SC2.

Starcraft II System Requirements

The minimum system requirements for the Starcraft II Beta are as follows:

PC Minimum Requirements:
• Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7
• 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
• 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
• 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
• 1024x768 minimum display resolution
• 4 GB free hard space (Beta)
• Broadband connection

*Note* the final requirements for Starcraft II have not yet been determined. Due to ongoing development the minimum requirements listed above are subject to change at any time. During this phase a Mac version will NOT be available, please check back.

Ya se pueden leer los primeros mensajes que han publicado Xordiah y Avarius en el recién abierto foro de la beta de SC2 en español. Además, de poder visitar el resto de foros de la beta que han creado en otros idiomas.

Como ya habían comentado desde Blizzard, los foros solamente permitirán publicar mensajes a los participantes de la beta pero todo el mundo podrá leerlos.

Este foro está dedicado a la discusión sobre la beta pública de StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Solo los participantes de la beta pueden añadir mensajes, pero todo el mundo puede ver el foro.

Actualmente el foro está dividido en cuatro secciones, aunque solamente tiene contenido el foro general.

Mike Morhaime anunció hace unas horas en la "Activision Blizzard Fourth Quarter Calendar 2009 Results Conference Call" que este mes estará disponible la beta de StarCraft II y el juego será publicado este año.



Desde el foro oficial de Blizzard se ha creado un hilo para comentar la noticia. Estas son algunas de las contestaciones a las preguntas que se están planteando:

- Emails to those who can participate in the beta will be sent out once it's ready to start.

- You should be able to download it to your other computer, however, you must be logged into your battle.net account in order to play.

- They will exist to give beta participants a place to discuss the beta and report any issues they may find. Only participants of the beta will be able to post, but the forums can be read by everyone.

- For everyone asking, we are targeting a global release for the start of the beta.
